Dear Beautiful Soul,
I want to share with you my deepest belief that change is possible. We have the power to control our destiny and create a new and different version of ourselves every day. This belief comes from my own experience growing up as I saw firsthand what was possible when people decided to make different choices. I learned that choices matter and that when we choose to do the tough things, we are rewarded.
My journey has led me to recognize the importance of establishing a vision for one’s life, letting go of self-doubt and expectations placed on us by others, and staying true to ourselves. By valuing ourselves, honoring our true nature, and being authentic in what we desire most, we can be present, focused, and connected. Through self-reflection, hard work, creating daily habits, and consistently challenging myself, I have developed a truly remarkable life.
My experiences have led me to a passion and desire to help others create their ideal vision of self and life. I can help break down barriers, set goals, and create a step-by-step plan to achieve whatever it is you desire, I never thought I would become a healer, public speaker, or author. But by allowing myself to explore the possibility and step into what I thought were just dreams, I found my passion and power. And if I can do this, I truly believe that anyone willing to redirect their lives can find their own magic and medicine.
It would be my honor to explore that path with you and walk side by side as a scared witness to the blooming of your sacred self. Let us work together to create the life you deserve.
Namaste,
Jenny of Mama Agape
I am thrilled to tell you the wonderful story of how I chose the name Mama Agapa for my business and why many of my clients lovingly call me Mama.
Over the years, I have been blessed to receive countless compliments from friends and clients about how I exude a mother's love. Children and animals have always felt drawn to me, and strangers have opened up to me with personal stories without fully understanding why. My husband has even described me as "all warm and Mama-like."
As a young girl, I had a deep yearning to become a mother. Although I have not been blessed with children of my own, I still aspire to love others unconditionally and to help them heal their inner child and spirit. In fact, I have been told by a prophet that, even without birthing a child, I am a mother to many.
The name Mama Agapa represents my commitment to unconditional love and healing. Agape is a term from Greco-Christianity that signifies the highest form of love - the love of God for man and of man for God. While my practice does not center around religion, we do focus on healing and embrace the purest form of Divine Feminine and Masculine Love. Our aim is to find balance within ourselves and connect with our spiritual source, be it the Universe, Christ Consciousness, God Source, The Almighty, or any title one chooses to give it.
As a loving healer, I am dedicated to supporting the positive growth of other souls. This is why I chose the name Mama Agape - to reflect my mission to nurture, heal, and love unconditionally.
Thank you for allowing me to share my story and the values that underpin my work.
Jenny Mitchell's story is one of perseverance, courage, and strength. She was born with a speech impediment, delayed learning, and physical development issues. She was diagnosed with dyslexia and attended special education classes. Her home life was also tumultuous, with abuse, neglect, addiction, and generational trauma. Growing up in such an environment, it was not surprising that she struggled with low self-esteem and a lack of direction.
As a young adult, Jenny found herself without direction and struggled with alcohol and food to numb her pain and loneliness. She lacked education beyond high school and found herself working in manual labor jobs just to get by. Although she tried to better herself through a government training program, the program lost its instructor and she fell back into old patterns of self-doubt.
Jenny found herself in abusive relationships that mirrored what she learned as a child. She was living in HUD housing, doing day labor work when she could find it, and was dependent on food stamps. It got to the point where she knew she had to make a change or continue further into depression and self-pity. She chose to change and say no more to a subpar existence.
With the help of family, Jenny moved from Ohio to North Carolina where she could distance herself from the negative energy and mindset of her previous life. She got a better job in the service industry and took a few classes at the local tech school. Although it wasn't easy as there was a strong magnetic pull between the life she knew in Cincinnati and herself.
A year later, Jenny and her family moved to Arizona where she was surrounded by more family. She felt encompassed by love and the possibility to be the best version of herself. It took a few years of self-work and the support of others, but she found her worth and skills. She became self-sufficient, had a leadership position, fell in love, got married, bought a home, and had Mercedes and a BMW in her garage. She and her Husband enjoyed going out on dates and traveling at least twice a year.
However, just days after her wedding and learning she was pregnant, Jenny suffered a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and was rushed into emergency surgery. As the years passed, she experienced additional pregnancy losses and medical emergencies where she was near death's door. Her husband and she were shell-shocked and emotionally raw. Then she was diagnosed with cancer, and self-doubt and fear started to creep back into her life.
Although Jenny was in remission, physically and mentally, she did not fully recover. Her body ached, lacked energy, and her mind was cloudy. She was not able to work as she did before. As a result she lost that great job, and in turn, lost her home and nice cars, and lost her connection to her husband. She almost gave up on her marriage to go back to Ohio where she felt she belonged, but the truth was that state was an energetic mirror of how she was feeling mentally and spiritually.
However, Jenny and her husband decided to fight for their marriage and put in the work. In the process, she learned that she was depending on outside forces for her happiness and joy. She was just flowing and making the best of what hit her instead of actively directing her life. Her motto became "My happiness is my responsibility."
Jenny wanted to understand better how this all came crashing down, so she started exploring religion again, spirituality, metaphysics, and the like. She learned to trust her higher self and intuition, took what resonated with her, and left the rest behind. She found so much that made sense, so much that helped her improve her spiritual and emotional self. She saw herself blooming and healing, and she knew she had to share this with others.
Jenny is now a soul who strives to live her best life every single day. Her trials and tribulations have led her to recognize the importance of establishing a vision for one’s life, letting go of self-doubt and expectations placed on you by others, and staying true to yourself. She has developed a truly remarkable life through self-reflection, hard work, creating daily habits, and consistently challenging herself.
Her life experiences, spiritual exploration, and Shadow Work have all led her to become a healer, public speaker, and author. She believes that anyone willing to redirect their lives is most assuredly able to find their magic and medicine. It would be her honor to explore that path with them and walk side by side as a scared witness to the blooming of their sacred self.

To be honest, I had never heard of Reiki until a woman mentioned it at a Chamber of Commerce Women's Group meeting I attended while working at my parents' travel agency. Despite her explanation, I was still confused about what it was. However, after that initial encounter, Reiki seemed to be everywhere around me. I heard people talking about it, saw it on social media, and even came across a Facebook ad to learn Reiki. I was curious, and I wanted to learn more about it.
I searched online for information and found that learning Reiki was very expensive, but then I found a Reiki practitioner who offered classes at a reasonable price. However, just as I decided to take the training, the practitioner posted online that he was leaving town. I thought that was a sign that this was not meant to be for me. But as it is said in Reiki circles, when the student is ready, the teacher appears. Less than a year later, the practitioner returned to town and started offering the training again.
Despite the reasonable price, it was still a bit of a struggle for me to afford the class, so I reached out to him and asked if I could make payments. He was kind enough to agree to let me pay him $50 every two weeks until I was paid off, giving him the final $50 on the day of the class. (This is why I keep my prices low and am willing to work with those in financial need to help them learn Reiki too)
I was nervous and anxious on the day of the class, wondering if I would be out of place and what type of people I would meet. After all, I had never experienced anything like this nor had had a Reiki session prior. During the class, the Teacher asked who had experience in this modality, and everyone else raised their hand except for me. At that moment, I felt so out of place, but I reminded myself that I wouldn't be there if I wasn't meant to be there. I kept an open heart and mind throughout the class, and by the middle of the day, I was hooked on Reiki and what it could do.
My first big breakthrough with Reiki was healing my issue with insomnia. Today, I am a Reiki Master Teacher and a full-time practitioner. Reiki energy is so much a part of my life, and I am a Reiki Master in three modalities, soon to be four. I have since learned about sacred plant medicine, Shamanic Journey, crystal healing, meditations, and manifestation. I've learned how to use tuning forks and singing bowls, and affirmations. I have learned so much about how energy works, how our subconscious works, and how this universe works in the past six years.
That one class opened the door to so much, about how I live and see my life today. But more importantly, my mindset of having an open heart, and an open mind, and believing that I had the capabilities and the right to explore things differently than I lived in the past were the biggest steps I've ever taken. Trusting myself and trusting my intuition have made all the difference in my life. Permitting myself to live and explore has allowed me to grow and thrive. If I can do this, anyone can.
