How does Reiki/ Energy Healing work?
Everything that exists in the universe is energy.
Energy can easily stagnate in the body anywhere there has been physical injury or emotional pain and over time, those energy blocks can cause illness. Energy work aims to clear blocks and help the flow of energy in the body.

Reiki (meaning Universal Life Force Energy) has been practiced for thousands of years, especially in countries that focus on eastern medicine and drugless healing. A high frequency energy that breaks up all lower frequency energies, Reiki is a wonderful holistic method of healing and balancing all aspects of the body, mind, and spirit. Reiki assists the body in restoring the natural energy balances, aids the body’s natural healing processes, helps develop emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being, releases tension, works to bring the chakras into alignment and can also reduce pain and other symptoms of illness.
As a Certified Reiki Master, I use Reiki along with other healing modalities to bridge the gap between holistic and western medicine while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which others can heal.
Channeling Reiki energy, clearing energetic blocks, honing my intuition to help others...it's my purpose and my passion. Since the day I realized Spiritual and Energetic Healing was my life path, the universe has been molding me, guiding me, and paving the way. My job is to follow, with an open heart and willing hands.

Is it wrong for Energy Healers and Spiritual Teachers to make a living helping others?
I have been approached throughout my journey by individuals who say I am taking advantage of people's pain and or it is unspiritual to request money in exchange for Energy Healing and Metaphysical / Spiritual Teaching.
When Healers and Spiritual Teachers fall into the belief we cannot use our talents / skills to heal and make enough to live on, we limit how many souls we are able to offer healing to. We are, in a sense, rejecting our own value and worth.
A living must be made in order for a Healer or Teacher to have shelter, utilities, food, transportation, medical care… so on and so forth. If basic needs are not provided for, the healer suffers. The only option is to heal or teach less to have the time availability to earn a living by other means. This results in reduced flexibility and fewer souls are helped, healed and taught.
Keep in mind Healers also spend many hours and substantial sums of money on Education, Certifications, Seminars, and Workshops. Association Fees, Professional Insurance are reoccurring expenses. They have purchased and read many books to continue their growth as a practitioner. They spend money on providing a space for healing and events, either within thier home or a rental space. Then there are additional costs such as Massage Tables and accessories like Pillows, Sheets, Cleaner. Tunning Forks, Singing Bowls, Crystals, Smudge, Sprays. Incense, Oils, Crystals. Class supplies, Training Manuals, printing of class resources, intake forms, after care sheets, business promotions, flyers, business cards.
When a client agrees to pay my fees or offers a love donation, the client is making a statement such as:
"I want to try this form of healing and it is worth the amount you charge. I recognize the value of your work."
Or
"I see the truth in your knowledge. I too want to expand my mind and skills. I feel a connection with you as my mentor and I am willing to invest in both of us."
Of course, I can rightfully decide to make exceptions, in certain circumstances, to offer discounted, or free services. I often provide Distance Reiki, Meditations, and Group Conversation via Social Media at no cost.
There is a concept that all of us must consider - the energy exchange. In the world of economics, setting a fair price for a product or service is done by determining its value for the customer. If the price is too high, no one will purchase it. If it is too low, the value is diminished. In the same way, when a Reiki practitioner offers services to the public, there are expenses and hours of time involved.
For the client, choosing to spend money on Reiki, a Class or Event may mean choosing not to do something else - a choice that demonstrates the value placed on the treatment.
Money is not the only way to do an energy exchange. Bartering can be a valid method. For those clients who desire Reiki treatments, there are many ways they can pay for my efforts. They may have homegrown vegetables, or handmade items of equal monetary value to exchange. Or, they may be able to provide a service, such as photography, House Cleaning, Massage, Cosmetology, or Home / Auto Repair
The only caution about bartering is both must be honest and feel comfortable the trade is even. Otherwise, the energy exchange will be tainted with negative feelings. Never a good way to start a healing modality trade!
If there is truly nothing to be bartered and I decide circumstances call for a free session - The client will then be requested to at least provide word-of-mouth referrals and a written review of their experience to be shared via printed and social media marketing.
Why should I attend an in person class, when I can get a Reiki Certificate online for cheap?
First, I would highly suggest you find a Reiki Master Teacher you are aligned with and enjoy being around. Finding a mentor you feel a connection with and have mutual respect for is very important as their intentions and energy will be a part of your attunement and new knowledge base.
In person hands-on Reiki training is amazing and even though you can receive distance attunements... building a relationships and having the in personal experience is so much more impactfull as you are emerged in the healing energy and can share this with others in you class.
Reasons to Learn Reiki in Person:
Having Heart Centered and Energetic Awaking with others amplifies your experience.
Having a Reiki Master to guide the class based on the learning groups unique needs and time frame is beneficial.
Having an instructor on hand to ask questions and get clarification regarding what is not in the written text.
You get to see the wonderment and blossoming of your fellow learners. (This is my favorite part of class!)
The hands on training and real life practice is invaluable.
Receiveing loving support and feedback from fellow classmates.
Being fully immersed and not letting home distractions such as barking dogs, neighbors mowing their lawn, phone / door bell ringing, family demands interrupt you from the flow of your special time for self growth.
Build confidence in your skill and capabilities as a new Reiki Practitioner.
Being connected with the Reiki Community in your area.
Having a support group to share your journey with, ask questions of and attend Reiki shares with.
